Jai Jinendra,
I hope you are well. In this issue we are looking ahead to the YJ highlight of the year - the forthcoming 'Briding The Gap' convention in July. I have been to previous conventions and have left truly inspired and witha deeper knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Jain dharma. This is all achieved through a uniquely YJ style which includes lectures, workshops and interactive sessions.
One does not necessarily leave a YJ convention equipped to pass a theory exam on Jainism, but with some of the knowledge preserved and shared in Jain dharma to help guide us through the exam of life. The knowledge is no just a trivial pursuit but poingantly significant in our spiritual pursuit. In this issue we turn to Jain history and Jain traditions to learn how best to cultivate this knowledge with openness, sincerity and humility and how to inculcate this knowledge with our lives.
Let us approach the convention and our lives with the sense of striving for knowledge that has so shaped Jain philosophy. If we do, we may just start to bridge the gap between our lives and our goal of Moksha.
